70-599

Introduction

This page is dedicated to the study towards taking part in the 70-599 exam Pro: Designing and Developing Windows Phone 7 Applications.

Cheers,

Mike

What to expect here

At this moment in time this exam is still in Beta so therefore the contents of these pages are based purely on the judgement of myself and my peers (I am hoping to get feedback from the use of the pages comments etc.).

I am taking part in this exam early May 2011 (so now starts the nightmares of missed exams or turning up for School in your undies etc. – I hate exams) . So that I can prepare myself for this exam there are areas that I feel I need to find out more about.

Having written apps myself I need to validate that I have written those apps in the way that the exam content expects you to have written the applications.

At this moment in time there isn’t any released study material that I can find except for the page that lists the exam contents. I am hoping to address this situation here.

While I take part in the study is process I decided that it may be a good idea to document my sources of information and validation associated with the exam here in these pages.

I am going to achieve this by tackling each exam section in isolation:

Designing Data Access Strategies (19%)

Designing and Implementing Notification Strategies (17%)

Working with Platform APIs, Tasks, and Choosers (21%)

Designing the Application Architecture (21%)

Designing the User Interface and User Experience (23%)

If you have any ideas of how I can make this better or are willing to help contribute (you may be taking the exam yourself) then please either leave a comment or drop me an email at mike[at]mikehole[dot]com.
